Graduate in Military Sciences from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (1986) and in Physical Education from the Army Physical Education School (1990). He completed a High Military Studies Course at the Army Command and General Staff School (2001-2002). Specialist (MBA) in Project Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (2005-2006), Master in Military Sciences from the Army Command and General Staff School (2002) and Doctor of Business Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (2015). Head of the Graduate Section of the Army Command and General Staff School (2005-2007) and (2010-2011). Head of the Research and Postgraduate Department of the Meira Mattos Institute (2012). Defense and Army Attaché in Spain and Morocco (2012-2014). Head of the Army Strategic Studies Center (2014-2016). Deputy Chief of the Southern Military Command Operations Center. Member of the Brazilian Association of Defense Studies, the Brazilian Association of Political Science, and the Latin American Association of Political Science. Researcher at the Military Studies Laboratory (CPDOC / FGV), the Global Studies Center (UFG) and the Security and Defense Studies Laboratory (UFRJ). Has experience in Defense, focusing on Management and Strategic Studies.
He studies the process of transformation of the Armed Forces resulting from new societal demands, battlefield asymmetries and hybrid wars, as well as the impacts of these demands on Strategic Defense Management. It also focuses on decision-making analysis and crisis management. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Ministry of Defense at the War College
